The High Line is a park built on a disused rail line running from West 30th to 12th street along the Meatpacking District and Chelsea. It’s such a pocket of calm and restoration in this bubbling metropolis and you can almost see the stress melting away from people’s faces. It seems equally full of locals as tourists, and many people appear to come here just to get away from everything, have lunch in a quite spot or cool off in the running water. There is also a collection of sculptures and performance art making it highlight on any visit. It’s amazing how things can be transformed, from something that had no use and simply took up space, to an artistic natural haven. It’s also intersting how emotions can be seperated when entering a place of nature.
